So, there is a fest out there (I won't say which one, or when it posted, or even link to it for sake of ANON), that holds within it what I consider to be the best bit of writing I've ever done.

I am so immensely proud of this fic, and I think the peope who read it were really happy with it, too.

The thing is, as far as I know, it hasn't been rec'd.

I know. it's a terribly egotistical and arrogant thing to do: to check people's flists and see if it's been rec'd, but I was SO PROUD of it. And... seriously, I'm just really happy with how it turned out. *I* would have rec'd it if I could. Hell, I probably did!

So, now I'm wondering why people rec some things and don't rec others. I know it takes a few minutes to do a post saying "OMGFLIST,YOUGOTTAREADTHIS!" and put that in a link.

Does it have to be something that really moves you? According to the comments so far, this fic has moved a lot of people.

Does it have to be your OTP pairing? You know me, I'm not into the OTP concept, myself, but I understand those who are and how they might not want to rec something outside their pairing.

I don't know.

There's not a whole lot of squee on my flist these days. I know the economy has got a lot of us down, and some people are backing out of HP fandom, but those of us who are still enthralled...

I just don't know.

I know I'm spamming you guys today.

But I had an idea, and I was wondering if anyone would be up for it.

I'm thinking of running a coloring contest! Okay, that sounds corny. But I thought I could do a drawing, post it up online as a pdf, and then people could color it and post it in the journal. Maybe create a comm for it, and have people do it once a month?

Would there be anyone interested in something fun like this?
