Hey, that first one looks vaguely familiar. *laughs*

I really like the second one, too. The age progression is fantastic. I'm not quite that subtle in style. And, wow, that nose. Awesome!

[identity profile] littleblackbow.insanejournal.com 2009-02-03 02:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Hee, thanks.

Yeah, I'm forcing myself to do the age progression so I can *get* more subtle in things like that. I really want to do some art that takes place between the Marauders era and Harry Potter era. Especially looking at what was going on at Hogwarts with the Weasleys and between Snape, Narcissa, Lucius, and Dumbledore.

Oh, and on an unrelated topic, I was wondering how one would submit stuff to WTP. Do you know?

[identity profile] accioslash.insanejournal.com 2009-02-03 02:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, they would love to have your work. I think the process is pretty simple for someone computer literate, but if you have questions contact [insanejournal.com profile] aliciamasters, [insanejournal.com profile] shadowess, or [insanejournal.com profile] magic_helmet and they can assist you.

[identity profile] littleblackbow.insanejournal.com 2009-02-03 02:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, okay!

I'll contact them and see what they think. I looked on the archive, and there's no place for video. :P

And I don't want to run the risk of putting it in the wrong place and getting banned or something.

[identity profile] accioslash.insanejournal.com 2009-02-03 02:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, the WTP people are awesome and go out of their way to be helpful. And your vids need to be there. I, personally, am too lazy to be able to upload art, but they'll help you.

This is the media section at wtp, there are some videos there:

Lovely pics!

I flew by while at work so I couldn't comment earlier, but I have a tiny break now, so I can.
They are both gorgeous! Have I mentioned lately how much I love your watercolors? *sigh*
The second one makes my heart squeeze tight for him. :(
*cuddles Sev and feeds him cookies and chocolate*

[identity profile] littleblackbow.insanejournal.com 2009-02-04 06:24 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you so much! Yeah, it was a long road getting to the point where I thought they were worth sharing, but I'm getting more and more pleased with them as I go. I think working small (drabble-size?) helps a lot!

Not as much investment, and more freedom to work things out on the paper.

[identity profile] veridian_dair.insanejournal.com 2009-02-03 03:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, more art to *love*

Seriously, I'm always in awe of your watercolor talent. How it can look so delicate and yet so vibrant simultaneously is truly amazing.

[identity profile] littleblackbow.insanejournal.com 2009-02-04 06:24 am (UTC)(link)
It's so hard to get used to. I really ought to do a tutorial on them.

Actually, I should write a book. :P

[identity profile] veridian_dair.insanejournal.com 2009-02-04 12:10 pm (UTC)(link)
You should! Those of us who total neanderthals at watercolors could benefit at your expertise!

I'm working in the "Pirates of the Carribean" fandom at the moment for a February birthday gift for my dearest Snarry reading buddy and it's a weird jump. And a bit surreal since I've never even seen movies 2 and 3! It's coming out cool though.

[identity profile] reallyginnyf.insanejournal.com 2009-02-03 05:19 pm (UTC)(link)
Phew. I'm *supposed* to be working but I can't seem to tear my eyes away from the young, facial-hairless, lanky-haired, big-nosed Snape up there. I think you've got the skin tone spot on. This has to be my favorite so far out of all the Snape portraits you've done. Things are kind of tight budget-wise at the moment, but if you ever decide to sell him, please let me know.

[identity profile] littleblackbow.insanejournal.com 2009-02-04 06:25 am (UTC)(link)
He's actually promised to Accio already. :P

However, you know me. Once I fall upon a version of him that I like, I can't pull myself away from him.

I can guarantee there will be more. !!

[identity profile] dementordelta.insanejournal.com 2009-02-03 10:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Awwwww! They look so happy together in the first one! And I love the hint of Snape's tie--ohgod, so hot!

[identity profile] littleblackbow.insanejournal.com 2009-02-04 06:26 am (UTC)(link)
You know, I thought so, too. And that brown shirt seemed so chem-prof to me. Then I did the tie and I was like "OOOOOH YEAH!"

^_^

More Dreaming Spires are to come. I really think that fic needs a cover.

[identity profile] dementordelta.insanejournal.com 2009-02-04 11:25 pm (UTC)(link)
*whimper* A cover? That would make me so happy! Er, no pressure or anything...:D

[identity profile] vimeslady.insanejournal.com 2009-02-03 10:47 pm (UTC)(link)
They are both wonderful, but (perhaps surprisingly considering how Snape-centric I am) my eyes continue to return and linger on Harry in that first one.

[identity profile] littleblackbow.insanejournal.com 2009-02-04 06:27 am (UTC)(link)
I think it's the fact that Harry and Snape seem so comfortable together. Something's caught his attention, but Snape isn't worried, and Harry's still aware of who is next to him.

It just feels like a snapshot of these two men together. ^_^

[identity profile] mindabbles.insanejournal.com 2009-02-03 10:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Lovely! I really love Harry's expression. The colors are beautiful. Snape's hair is perfect.

[identity profile] littleblackbow.insanejournal.com 2009-02-04 06:29 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks! ^_^

I've been working on some of the subtle changes as Snape grows older. Challenging myself like this is part of what makes me keep going.

I want to do a Sirius series, too. Of him as a young boy, when he got to Hogwarts, age of the Prank, when he was out around the time James died. Azkaban, post-azkaban, and just before DoM.

[identity profile] ria_awesome.insanejournal.com 2009-02-03 11:13 pm (UTC)(link)
More gorgeous work!

I love your watercolours. I really do ♥

[identity profile] littleblackbow.insanejournal.com 2009-02-04 06:30 am (UTC)(link)
YAY! Thank you!! I'm going to do a Sirius series soon, as soon as I finish Snape's age progression.

I should do a series of Harry, too, now that I think about it.

Snape! OMG yes yes yes *sobs*

[identity profile] slashpine.insanejournal.com 2009-02-04 01:29 am (UTC)(link)
OMG it's Snape, so Snape, such a gorgeous sad creature! I love him at 21. This is such a totally perfect visual image of his complexity! All youth stooped down, a fine brain that still can't fathom social life, reluctantly interested in the world, simmering with magic and so much sullenness. Here I see a Severus that prompts stories, that is the reason for great fics of him at this time.

I love your "Dreaming Spires" Snape, he is such a perfect Chemistry prof! The lines carved deep in a strong-set face, the green (Slyth!) tie and a shirt that seems just a bit of a color-blind combination with it, and slightly out of style, too. Just like some of my own favorite science profs!

Re: Snape! OMG yes

[identity profile] slashpine.insanejournal.com 2009-02-04 01:33 am (UTC)(link)
I don't mean to slight your Harry. *g* He's the very model of a bright scruffy student here. You've made both their hairstyles so in keeping with what they do. It really puts me into the mood of the story.

Re: Snape! OMG yes yes yes *sobs*

[identity profile] littleblackbow.insanejournal.com 2009-02-04 06:31 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you so much!!

Yeah, I think I've finally got him the way that I see him. Really, it's hard to figure out how to depict him on the paper. As much as I love and adore Alan Rickman, he wasn't the way I saw Snape. Especially since in my mind's eye, he's in his early to mid 30's when it begins.

*sigh*

Well, there will be more, you can count on that! ^_^

It's me, Sonia/slai ^^;!

Hi Rana,

I see Snape has aged quite gracefully, and Harry looks like his daddy ;)! I like how Snape still has that air of loftiness to him even in his 'old' age!

[identity profile] akuma_river.insanejournal.com 2009-02-07 05:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Oooh pretty.

I need to read the ficy, right?

[identity profile] littleblackbow.insanejournal.com 2009-02-07 05:58 pm (UTC)(link)
yes. you need to read it.

And you'll want to hug it when you're done reading.

Seriously. It's beyond amazing.

[identity profile] entrenous88.insanejournal.com 2009-02-08 06:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Ooooh, love them both, but I particularly love the first one, just because I'm imagining scruffy!student!Harry saying, "What's for pudding?" as he does in the fic. Great work!

[identity profile] venturous.insanejournal.com 2009-03-02 09:50 pm (UTC)(link)
fabulous, as usual!!!

love, love love the Dreaming Spires. perfect!
and 21yr old Sev, awww, I still wanna hug him.

[identity profile] winnett.insanejournal.com 2009-03-03 09:37 am (UTC)(link)
Wow, this are lovely. I really like Snape's nose and that dower expression.
