I've had a stroke of somewhat genius. Well, not complete genius, but I had a pretty good idea.

I filled out a new W-4, so I don't think they'll be taking out much in the way of taxes. If all goes according to plan, I should have a extra $75 per month. Hopefully.

Voice of experience: changing the W-4 can be a very good move - but don't get into the situation of having too little tax withheld. It is VERY difficult to pay in at the end, and if you owe a lot the IRS can charge penalties.

Good luck with all your budget adjusting - it is a huge challenge these days!

I think I'm going to track it for a couple of months (I'm one of those people who reads every line of every pay stub), and see how much they're withholding. If it isn't enough, I'll change it again.
